

Margaret Miles Adams passed away December 6, 2001, in San Antonio. Mrs. Adams was born in Los Angeles, California, August 19, 1918. She attended high school in Pasadena and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara then Santa Barbara State College in 1940. She was a member of Delta Zeta Delta sorority. Mrs. Adams taught School Kindergarten/Primary in the Los Angeles area until she married Ben Adams, a young lieutenant and Army Air Corps pilot in July 1941. Mrs. Adams traveled with her husband and their 4 children to many of his military assignments, including 3-year tours in Fontainebleau, France and Wiesbaden, Germany. Their youngest child was born in Fontainebleau on July 4, 1953. She was active in Officer's Wives Clubs and a full-time wife and mother. After Colonel Adams' retirement from the Air Force and following his post-military position with the California State University in San Bernardino, the "empty nesters" moved to San Diego in 1972 where they enjoyed golf and travel for almost 20 years. Mrs. Adams was a travel enthusiast and planned many of their trips, including cruises to many interesting parts of the world. After considerable research, Ben and Margaret decided that the best place for their final retirement was "The Towers" in San Antonio, where they moved in May, 1991. During their years at "The Towers", they made many wonderful friends among the residents and continued to enjoy world travel and visits with family. Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 59+ years; three childrenJane and husband, Dan, James, Jeffrey and wife, Susanand 5 grandchildren. Interment will be in Riverside, California.
