Active in public service, Mrs. Courtney was a vigorous supporter of programs for youth in our community, including serving as longtime board member and volunteer for Roy Maas Youth Alternatives. A strong and discerning individual, Peg loved reading, art, and service to the community. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lewis Courtney. Mrs. Courtney is survived by three children: Beth Lillis, and her husband Al; Cyndi Lyons, and her husband Tommy; and Geoffrey Courtney, and his wife Lisa. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all of Mrs. Courtney's dedicated caregivers, and especially Teresa Lopez and Mary Reyna for their decades of loving service and friendship, and to recognize the compassionate care she received at Stone Oak Care Center. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, or the charity of your choice. All that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which is destined.
