

Margaret M. Earl passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the age of 95, after a five year battle with kidney disease. She was born in Junction City, Kansas, November 26, 1915, to MSG Frederick Aalen USA Ret and wife, Frances Aalen.
Margaret graduated from Incarnate Word High School in 1934 where her favorite sports were basketball and tennis.
After graduating high school, she met the love of her life, Jerry, at a back yard party at the home of David Filley. They married July 29, 1939 at the Main Post Chapel at Fort Sam Houston. Margaret and Jerry had a life in the military for 25 years, which included being Pearl Harbor survivors.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother who loved and lived life to its fullest. She was a great cook and loved to fish.
Her favorite times were spent at their lake house on Lake LBJ with her family and friends. After the death of her husband in 1995, she moved to the Towers at Park Lane. Margaret resided there for over 15 years where she volunteered as an "angel" at the nursing home for many years. She loved living at the Towers and had many wonderful friends there.
She attended church at the Brooke Army Medical Center Chapel and prayed for her family every night.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Lt. Col. Gerald Jerry M. Earl USAF Ret; her parents; brother, Johnny Aalen; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Aalen and Mary Louise Sumner; and grandson, Coleman Earl Pigott.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Butch Earl and wife, Nora; daughter, Mary Ann Pigott; her beloved brother, Milton Aalen; brother-in-law, Fred Sumner; grandchildren, Jesse Pigott, Michael Earl and wife, Christina, Matthew Earl and wife, Susan, Marcus Earl; step-grandson, Luis Rinsivillo and wife, Yashira; great grandchildren, Sydney Ann and William Jesse Pigott Jr; Harrison, Anna and Ryan Earl; nieces, Jan Castleberry and husband, Joe Pat, Barbara O'Connell and husband, Pat, Diane Wallace and husband, Dr. Bob Wallace; nephews, Jim Aalen and wife, Lynn, Gary Aalen and wife, Virginia; and numerous cousins and countless friends. She is also survived by Kim Pigott and her family.
