Margaret A. (Gussie) Freeman

Margaret A. (Gussie) Freeman, entered into rest with her Lord on, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Don F.C. Freeman; parents, Gus and Maude Gumerson, two sisters, and five brothers. She is survived by nieces, Sharon Bruns of Enid, Oklahoma, and Barbara Gumerson; nephews Robert Welsh of Iowa City, Iowa, James Welsh of Palm City, FL, and David Bell of Ponca City, OK.

Born in Kremlin, OK August 1, 1921, she was a graduate of Enid H.S. Her husband was a career US Air Force and their last move was to San Antonio in 1959. She was a devoted Civil Servant working in the Civilian Personnel Office at Lackland AFB from 1959 until her retirement in 1986. She enjoyed Shine outings with her husband, playing Bingo with her sister and taking cruises with several close friends. After retirement, she was a tireless volunteer at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center. She was also a longtime active member of the Marbach Christian Church volunteering in several capacities.

Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Marbach Christian Church, 8023 Marbach Rd. with Rev. Darnell Dotson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Ok.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Marbach Christian Church.
