

A lifetime resident of San Antonio and a graduate of Brackenridge High School in 1940, Margaret was an accomplished violinist who devoted her life to music. She was a charter member of the first San Antonio Symphony in the 1930's and shared her musical gift by teaching hundreds of young students and playing in numerous community orchestras, including those at Trinity University, Incarnate Word, UTSA and at Castle Hills First Baptist Church.
Margaret taught strings and orchestra in the North East ISD and at the Castle Hills Academy, and continued to teach private and small group lessons until 2003. She was an active member of the Tuesday Musical Club.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Hoffman. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Peskin and Aaron, Susan Hall and Steve; grandchildren, Sarah Glenney, Scott Glenney, Patrick Hall and Josh Hall; brother, Walter Louis Geyer, Jr and Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Madeline Jarrell; and nieces, Marilyn Chappell, Barbara Johnson, Diana Jayne and Janice McLaughlin.
