

Margaret (Peggy) Duerr Miller died peacefully at age 89 on September 21, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Decatur, Illinois on December 26, 1922, She graduated from Decatur High School and Millikin University and was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Decatur. She taught at Maroa High School and was a librarian for the Decatur Public Library. She was involved in Girl Scouting for many years and served as a troop leader. She volunteered for Rock Springs Nature Center for 28 years, was a lifelong member of Pi Beta Phi, and was a member of the Decatur Rug Hooking Group and the Macon County Historical Society.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elizabeth Slayton, and husband of 53 years, Jack Alan Miller. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Tom) Leonard of San Antonio, Martha Miller of Naperville, IL, Bill (Linda) Miller of Glendale, MO and sister-in-law Jeanne Miller of Philpot, KY. Grammy is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Leonard of San Antonio, Courtney (Stuart) Ivey of Spanish Fort, AL, and Garrett Miller of Glendale, MO and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2PM at First Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL with Dr. James Montgomery officiating. Peggy will be laid to rest at Fairlawn Cemetery in Decatur.
The family extends it’s appreciation to Odyssey Hospice and Integrity Personal Care Home of San Antonio, Texas for the outstanding care they provided.
