Margaret C. Nixon

Charlene was born on December 22, 1953, in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and moved with her family to United States in her early years. She graduated from Michael Reese Medical Center, Department of Nursing Services in Chicago, Illinois June 29, 1979.

Charlene married May 29, 1976 and moved to San Salvador, El Salvador where she raised her family and worked as a RN for the American Embassy.

She returned to the United States in 1993 settling in San Antonio. She continued to work in the nursing profession until earlier this year.

Charlene is the daughter of Patricia Dickson Bjarnarson and the late Valdirmar Wallace Bjarnarson.

She is survived by her two children Carlos Roberto and Cristina Margaret Nixon of San Antonio, TX; her mother Patricia Dickson Bjarnarson; and her three sisters, Shauna Techla-Marian of Puyullap, WA, Nina Louise of Alsip, IL, and Marilyn Dempsey of Easton, CT and their respective families. Charlene will be interned with her father near her birthplace this August during the Icelandic Celebrations. Following the services, light hors d'oeuvres will be served in the home from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Carlos and Cristina will be pleased to meet you there for food and conversation.
