She was born March 19, 1932, in York, Nebraska to Florence Flanagan and Ozro Thompson, the youngest of six children. She moved to Omaha in 1945 where she attended Creighton University for a short time, then started working at Mutual of Omaha. She met Dean Patterson at a dance, and they married on Aug. 1, 1953. Together they enjoyed square dancing, camping and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Charlie (Kathy) McDonald; daughter-in-law Sandi (Jim) Patterson; two brothers and a sister.
Marge is survived by daughter, Kathy McDonald and son Jim Patterson of San Antonio; daughter Jean (John) Cullen of Boise, Idaho; granddaughter Jennifer (Matt) Patlovany, grandson Craig (Jessica) Patterson; and great-grandsons Nathan and Jack Patlovany, all of San Antonio; two brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 1-Omaha or the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation.
