Margaret went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday morning, she passed sleeping peacefully. Born in Ivanhoe,West Virginia to the late Denzil and Pearl Casto. After graduation she worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington D.C. and later for Union Bag and Paper Corporation in Savannah, Georgia and then for the Rena Ware Inc. in Spokane, Washington.
In 1952 she married William (Bill) Anthony(USAF) from her same class at Buckhannon Upshur High School in Buckhannon, West Virginia. They had three sons each born at a different duty station, in order Pat (Georgia) James (Idaho) John (Germany). Their last duty station was in San Antonio, Texas which is where they would end up living. They attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and became members in 1972. She was a very active member serving and chairing on many committees over the years When Bill's mother moved here, Margaret became her confidante. After 48 loving years together, Bill passed in 2000.
She found love again in 2002 and married Doug Sands from Elmore, Alabama. They enjoyed services at his church. She was widowed a second time when Doug passed in 2004. Shen moved back home after that and enjoyed puzzles and games, her favorite was Spinner with Mexican Train a close second. Mom did not cut any slack to anyone which made it more fun. She loved her family fully and completely. True to her generation she was always impeccably dressed and a perfect lady. She was a true shining example of the servant of God and His passionate love for us to share with each other.
She is preceded by Denzil and Pearl Casto, her parents; her brothers Robert, Gary and David Casto; Her husband Bill Anthony; her son Patrick Anthony, and her husband Doug Sands.
She is survived by her sister Mary Bealer, her sons James Anthony and wife Linda; John and husband Steven, her daughter in law Pam Anthony. Her grandchildren, Vanessa Austin and husband Michael; Matthew Anthony and wife Amanda; Ryan Anthony; Jenalyn Cherry and husband David. Her great grandchildren, Nicole Raymo; Madalyn Austin; Dakota Anthony; Callistarya Cherry; Desiree Cherry; Peyton Anthony; Illuvatares Cherry; Jonathan Anthony and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers Mom requested that a donation be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
