She was born in Pakala, Kauai, Hawaii, on January 21, 1920. She was a dedicated child-care giver for hundreds of Hawaii's children. She was known for her engaging stories, quick wit and Aloha spirit, and was devoted to her family, Kaneohe neighbors and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Andrew M. Stanley.
She is survived by her son, Andrew M. Stanley, Jr., Col, USAF, retired , and wife Patti; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Stanley, Lynn Wheeler and husband John; Susanne Stanley, and Kelly Stanley; 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Wheeler; a sister, Bena Rapozo, and a brother, John Bryant and wife Margaret.
Services will be held at 11 A.M on Friday, February 27, 2009, at St. Anthony's Church in Kailua, with interment at the Hawaii State Veterans' Cemetery at 1 P.M.
