Margarita Cuellar Cantu

Margarita (Margie) Cuellar Cantú, 80, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her husband and children on May 17, 2026. Margie was born on November 12, 1945 in Lampasas, Texas. She became a lifelong resident of San Antonio, and was a graduate of Edgewood High School.

Margie married the love of her life, Guadalupe M. Cantú on February 26, 1965. She spent her time as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was actively involved in her church, the school PTA, and was a beloved member of her west side neighborhood. She loved sewing, hosting family gatherings, and going to the bingo.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jose and Leonor Cuellar, amá Mage Tobar, siblings Ricardo, Willie, Juanita, and Nore.

Margie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Guadalupe M. Cantú, sons Joseph and Julia Cantu, Anthony and Claudia Cantu. Daughters Irene and Jesse Hernandez, Noemi and Eric Martinez. Grandchildren Michelle, Jonathan, Tiffany, Jolene, and Mathew, great grandchildren Zirina, Ariyana, and Patricia, and great-great grandson Amias. As well as her Lampasas siblings, Linda, Mary Loy, Mary Jane, and JR, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held June 01, 2026, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, with a Rosary service at 11:30 AM to be followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12 PM. These services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Tx 78237. A Graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery III will conclude the services after the Celebration of Life.
