Margarita Solis Trevino of San Antonio, Texas, sadly passed away on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born on October 18, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to parents Benito Solis and Anita Scotti.
She is preceded in death by her parents Benito Solis and Anita Scotti Solis, husband Mike G. Trevino Jr., children Claudio Martin Trevino and Flor Trevino, grandson Gregory Trevino, brothers Benito Scotti Solis and Antonio Scotti Solis, sister Lydia Solis Villarreal.
She is survived by her sister Ida Solis Hernandez; daughters Fannie Connolly, Herminia Filippone, Ida Leticia Scotti Trevino, and Leonora Brackin; sons Robert Trevino, Benito Miguel Trevino, Felix Trevino, Pete Trevino, Jesse Solis Trevino, and Angel Trevino; 38 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and many other family members and friends.
Margarita attended Sidney Lanier High School reaching 9th grade level, but found herself in a position that required her to leave school to help her widowed father raise her younger brother and sister.
Our mother sold Avon and worked many other jobs, and then pursued a career as an LVN at Morningside Manor Nursing Home. Her biggest and most important job was caring for her 12 children.
Margarita’s greatest passion was singing and playing the piano, and although this career never came to fruition, she entertained every one of her children and others throughout her talented life. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.
She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services
Visitation will be held Sunday December 17, 2023 from 5 PM – 9 PM at Trevino Funeral Home (226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237) with a Rosary to be recited at 7 PM. Graveside Services will be held on Monday December 18, 2023 from 11 AM – 11:30 AM at San Fernando Cemetery #2 (746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237).
