A Texas native, Margo grew up with her three brothers all over Texas, including Laredo, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. She studied Finance at the University of Texas at Austin. She began her career as a legal secretary in Guam. She later worked at the prestigious Kutak Rock LLP in Omaha, Nebraska and at Bracewell and Patterson LLP in San Antonio, Texas. Later, she served as a Special Education Coordinator at several Northside ISD schools. Margo loved her three children, horses, yorkies, bull mastiffs, and the Texas hill country.
Margo was preceded in death by her father, Rene, and brother, Rene Jr. She is survived by her mother, Librada Gutierrez; brothers, Ronald Gutierrez and Robert Gutierrez; son, Austin Mitchem; and daughters, Alanna Mitchem and Lella Brynne Mitchem.
