

She was born August 12, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska. She moved to Houston as a young child with her parents, Forrest and Gladys Wylie, where her father graduated from Rice University.
She attended Sam Houston State University where she majored in art and was a fashion model for Neiman Marcus.
She married Melvin "Jinx" Decker at the end of WWII, and they had two children. Upon Jinx's early death in 1970, Mamie embarked upon a successful career with Milchem, Inc. in Corpus Christi and then later Baker Hughes in Houston, from where she retired in 1993.
She had many, many talents, and all who knew her recognized her as the epitome of class and elegance. Above all, Mamie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brother, Loren "Lew" Wylie.
She is survived by her son, Terry Earl Decker; daughter, Denice Decker Roesch, and grandchildren, Tammi Dee Roesch, Lance Earl Roesch, Rody Decker, Randi Decker, Travis Decker, Trace Decker and Morgan Pedraza; sister, Julianne Henry; as well as nieces and nephews.
