Marguerite McKenna Orr of San Antonio died on April 25, 2002 at age 85. Marguerite was born in Canada, November 8, 1916, and joined the U. S. Army Nurse Corps in World War II. As a Lieutenant assigned to field hospitals, she took part in campaigns in Africa, Italy and the Pacific. Following WW II, Marguerite joined the Panama Canal Company and served for 27 years as a nurse in the Canal Zone. She was especially proud of her service as head nurse at Palo Seco Hospital, one of only 3 leprosarium's run by the U.S. Marguerite was married to Joseph H. Orr Jr., who died in 1959. Marguerite was devoted to her son, Joseph H. Orr III; daughter-in-law, Sonia Orr; and her grandchildren, Ashley and Shannon Orr. She was extremely proud and supportive of her granddaughters and their accomplishments. A sister, Mary Malmburg in Florida, also survives Marguerite.
