Maria Minerva Aguilar

Maria Minerva Perez Aguilar, age 80, peacefully went home to our Lord, Jesus on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on September 28, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Pedro Perez and Dolores Ayala.

She graduated from Brackenridge High School and continued her education to obtain a Master’s in Educational Administration. She also earned her certifications in Secondary English/Spanish, Principalship, and Library Sciences. She worked in the San Antonio Independent School District as an educator with the majority of her nearly 40 years at J.T. Brackenridge Elementary as their school librarian. A school that held a tender place in her heart where she had once attended as a child.

Maria loved her family, God, and our Virgen the Guadalupe immensely. Positively impacting children’s education was something she took great pride in. Respecting God’s world and His creatures was one of many values she instilled in her daughter and grandson. She loved chapel visits and attending adoration with our Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Dolores, as well as her brother, Roberto, and sister Elizabeth.Maria is survived by her husband Jesse; child Andriana & husband Rodney; grandchild Cristian; her brother Gilberto; sister Rosalinda, and many nieces and nephews; family and friends whose lives she touched.

One thing Maria always said was that life should be celebrated. Let us celebrate Maria’s life here on Earth and her new life with our God. Please wear bright colors to share our celebration in her name.

In lieu of flowers, Maria has asked a memorial donation be made to the Animal Defense League or Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation.
