Socorro was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria; her brothers, Mario,Sergio, and Javier; and her oldest son, Ruben Herrera.
Socorro is survived by her children, Carlos Herrera, Rene Mario Alvarado, Maria (Mary Lou) Alvarado and Mirthala Aleyda Alvarado; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am funeral mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road, San Antonio, Texas 78251. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marion, 11624 Culebra Road San Antonio, Texas 78251
