Maria Elia Villarreal

Maria Elia Villarreal, age 86, born January 4, 1933 passed away on April 18, 2019. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Miguel and Canuta Contreras; daughters, Nancy Villarreal and Mary Jane Villarreal; brothers, Miguel Contreras, Rigo Contreras, Rudy Contreras, Sr. and Jose Angel "Champ" Contreras; brothers-in-law, Johnny Del Valle and George Rivera Villarreal. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Fred R. Villarreal; children, Oscar Michael Villarreal, Richard Villarreal, Herman Villarreal (Margie), James Villarreal and Paul Villarreal (Lydia). Maria is also survived by her 14 adoring grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Irma Del Valle, Johnny Contreras (Mary), Manuel Contreras (Sulema) and Albert Contreras (Gladys). Maria enjoyed spending her time dancing, listening to music, cooking, spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all her close family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78237 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, April 25, 2019, Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
