Born in San Diego, Texas, and raised in Alice, Texas, Tina graduated from Alice High School and earned a degree in cosmetology. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Jose, beginning a remarkable journey together that spanned more than 62 years of marriage. Their life together was filled with love, adventure, and cherished memories as they traveled the world in support of Jose’s Air Force career, including living in Japan and Spain. Through every new place and experience, Tina remained the heart of her family, creating a loving home wherever life took them.
Although Tina enjoyed a career as a hairstylist early in her working life, she later spent 15 years working at Sony Electronics. Her greatest and most cherished accomplishments, however, were found in the life she built at home. She took immense pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted homemaker. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing the people she loved.
Tina especially enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with friends. She found happiness in bowling, tending to her many flowers and plants, shopping, embroidery, sewing, and keeping up with her favorite daytime soap operas. Whether surrounded by loved ones, caring for her plants, or sharing time with those who mattered most, Tina appreciated the simple pleasures that made life meaningful.
Above all, Tina will be remembered for her strong family values, unwavering Catholic faith, and generous spirit. She had a heart for helping others and gave freely of herself to anyone in need. Whether offering transportation, sharing a meal, or simply giving her time, Tina showed her love through thoughtful and unselfish acts of kindness. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand, and her compassion touched the lives of many.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Anselmo and Romanita Suarez, and her brother, Urbano Suarez.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of more than 62 years, Jose, her three cherished daughters: Criselda (Joe) Flores, Clarissa (Andrew) Montemayor, and Carla (Joshua) Carrillo, all of San Antonio, Texas; her sisters, Ercilia Gutierrez of Alice, Texas and Rosario Rodriguez of Austin, Texas; her brother, Anselmo Suarez Jr of Victoria, Texas; along with beloved nieces and nephews.
Her legacy of love continues through her five grandchildren: Riana (Chris) Strevel of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Drake Brown of Dallas, Texas; Isabella (Matt Alvarado) Montemayor of Seattle, Washington; and Isaiah Carrillo and Josiah Carrillo of San Antonio, Texas. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she took great joy in the family they represented.
Tina’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, family, and generosity. She leaves behind more than memories; she leaves a lasting example of how to care for others, cherish family, and give selflessly. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were blessed to know her.
Her greatest legacy was the love she gave, the family she nurtured, and the kindness she shared. She will forever be loved, remembered, and cherished.
