Maria Rosa Grever, beloved mother of three children, six grandchildren, and a great-grandson, went home to be with our Lord at the age of 76 on December 13, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
Maria was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 5, 1948, to Carmen and Oswaldo DeVincenzo and soon moved to Chile and Colombia before permanently settling in Mexico City, Mexico. There, Maria and her two younger sisters grew up attending school and playing golf at the country club where their father, Oswaldo, worked as the golf pro. After graduating high school, Maria met her husband, New Jersey/New York native Robert E. Grever, while playing golf. They were married in Mexico City on May 5, 1967.
After having two children, Maria and Robert moved to New Jersey for a short time and, in 1973, permanently settled their family in San Antonio, Texas. There, they founded CARA Records, a large and successful Tejano music record-producing company. They welcomed a third child, and Maria dedicated many years to raising their children, taking great pride in caring for her family.
Maria's greatest accomplishment and joy in her life were her six grandchildren: Taylor McAllen(28), Justin McAllen (27), Josh McAllen (24), Dawson McAllen(21), Gavin Grever(19), and Skylar Solis(12). She embraced her role as "Yaya" with love and devotion, creating cherished memories and family traditions that will endure for generations. In 2023, Maria was blessed with a great-grandson, Justin Jr. McAllen(1).
Maria was known for her warm smile, generous heart, great golf swing, and passion for cooking, often hosting gatherings centered around one of her famous meals. She had an incredible talent for cooking and golfing and found peace and joy tending to her family.
Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert E. Grever, parents Carmen and Oswaldo DeVincenzo and is survived by her daughter Cristina McAllen and husband Jeff McAllen, son Carlo Grever and wife Iliana Grever, daughter Michelle Solis and husband Tony Solis, six grandchildren, and one great grandson.
