My condolences to her family. I always admired her strength and courage. When she heard that Dillard's was looking for models, she had me dress up and she did my hair and make up and off we went. In the end, I chickened out, but she walked that ramp like she owned it and she was chosen. She was amazing. When we were about 14 years old, her grandpa let her drive his truck and we went everywhere, made us feel so grown up and she didn't even have a license, but it was a different time.
Life took us in different directions, but she was always in my heart.

I met Maria in Zumba class at the Weston Centre. I looked forward to seeing her every Tuesday and loved dancing with her. Our Zumba class grew to be such great friends! We shared dinners together and enjoyed this past Fiesta together. My heart is so heavy tonight.

Maria was a wonderful and loving friend who never complained, criticizes or had a harsh word. She alway had a smile and a hug for everyone she met. Even though I have not seen her in many years, she was always there for me in spirit. May she Rest In Peace and may her family find strength in her love and memory.

I am attaching one of the many great photos of our beautiful Maria from 1985. Love always Maria!

Maria and I were co-workers at TransPecos Banks in San Antonio. Memories of Maria is her love of "Fiesta" she always wore bright fiesta dresses and her beautiful high heels. She always had a smile and a encouraging words. She will be missed. My deepest sympathies to her daughter and her family. My God bless you all!

I met Maria in August, 2003 when I began working at Broadway Bank. She was my supervisor for 8 years or more. More importantly, she was a friend. She loved life. She loved, adored and cherished her beautiful daughter. Most of all she loved God. I can recall dealing with a personal issue at work and she called me into her office and said, “Let’s pray”. She always had a smile and an encouraging word. She had a beautiful heart, a glowing inner spirit and an outward appearance to match. I will miss this precious woman of God.

Maria and I were co-workers at TransPecos banks in San Antonio. My memory of Maria is when I first started working at the bank in November of 2018. I sat alone in the break room having lunch and not knowing anyone for a couple of week. One day Maria sat with me sand we talked like we had known each other for the longest time. She told me she loved her home near Canyon Lake, her family, she loved the rodeo and many other things important to her. She made me feel welcome and every time we saw each other in the office, she always had a kind word and a smile on her face. I will miss her terribly. I truly feel as though I lost a great friend. Although, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ comfort me. "Whosoever believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live". God Almighty, welcome my friend Maria into your kingdom.

I worked with Maria and couldn't wait to see what shoes she was wearing that day! I know this is trivial considering all, but wanted to say how beautiful she always looked . I will miss seeing her at work and have prayed for her a lot during the last 3 1/2 weeks. My deepest sympathies to her family that is left to grieve her passing. I am sharing a photo that I took of her last Halloween.
