Maria de Jesus Montes

Maria De Jesus Montes (Susy) was born on January 18, 1957, in Aramberri, Nuevo Leon. On December 20th, 2025, she was called to heaven, surrounded by the love of her family and close friends. She fought bravely after enduring a ruptured aneurysm, but in the end, God took her home.

Susy was a beautiful soul who cared deeply and believed in showing that love. Her laughter, warmth and inner light were a gift to us all. She loved and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and her wonderful career as an Interior Designer. The love for her family guided her heart and spirit throughout all her life. She created a home full of warmth, faith and joy.

She was a loving mother and is survived by her beloved children: Jennifer Villanueva, Marisol Cardona (spouse, Cris), and Fabian Montes. She was a proud and loving grandmother, “Tita” to James, Zoe, Christopher, Juliette, and Kamila, and a cherished great-grandmother to Zaydrian and Skyler.

Susy is also survived by her siblings: Martha Estrada, Carolina Rodriguez (spouse, John), Raul Villanueva (spouse, Elizabeth), Maria Inez Villanueva (spouse, John), Tina Jimenez, Maria Isabel Villanueva, Sylvia Villanueva and Edward Villanueva. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Villanueva and Leon Villanueva, and brothers, John Villanueva and Leon Villanueva.

A memorial visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 2525 Palo Alto Road, on January 5, 2026, at 6:00 pm, followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be on January 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church, 8510 S. Zarzamora Rd. Burial at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway.
