Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Maria J Polanco passed away Jan 19, 2017 at the age of 88. One of five children, Maria was born in Wurzburg, Germany to Eduard Robert and Elizabeth Jordon on Dec 7, 1928.
She is survived by her husband, Armando "Bill" Polanco, daughters, Tommie Blakey and Elizabeth Polanco, and son, Arnold Polanco, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Maria survived war-torn Germany. While assigned to the US Army mess hall, she met and married her husband, Bill. She emigrated from Germany in 1947 to make her new life in the United States.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm, January 23 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 8500 Cross Mountain Trail, to be followed by a memorial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:45pm. Pallbearers will be Daniel Cumby, Arnold Polanco, Gabe Blakey, Moe Blakey, Isiah Lopez, and Jeff Bryan.
Mom is proof that angels walk amongst us.
