Mrs. Maria Concepcion Rios

Maria C. Rios, born on November 16, 1956, in Monterey, Mexico, passed away on May 7, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Maria lived a life defined by her deep commitment to her family and her steadfast Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her. Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reyes Rios, and her daughter, Rosangela Rios. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried their love with her always. Though she experienced profound loss, she continued to live with grace and strength, finding purpose in the family she nurtured and the home she helped build.

She is survived by her children, Martha Lucia Aragón and her husband Mark, Reyes Rios Jr. and his wife Teresa, and Robert Rios and his wife Abby, brothers Jorge "Javier" Castillo and Jose "Francisco" Castillo, sisters Guadalupe Teresa Castillo and Maria Lucia Castillo. Maria was a devoted mother who took great pride in her children and the lives they established. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jiselda Aragón, Jacinda Aragón, Josiah Aragón, Jordan Rios, Juliette Rios, and Joshua Rios, each of whom brought her great joy and pride. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Maria worked as a beautician, where her caring nature and creative touch were evident in the way she served others. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and her work reflected the same warmth and attention she brought to every area of her life. Beyond her profession, she embraced the role of stay-at-home mother with dedication and love, creating a home filled with comfort, encouragement, and heartfelt memories.

Maria will be remembered as creative, loving, and faith-filled. These qualities were evident in the way she lived, the way she loved, and the way she met each day with quiet strength. The family will receive guests for a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary West, 1710 West Loop 1604 North, San Antonio, TX 78251.

A Committal Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
