Maria Gomez Vargas

Maria Candelaria Gomez Vargas, 91, went to be with the lord on Sunday February 5, 2017 after a long battle with dementia. Born on February 2, 1926 in Arlington,Texas to the late Inez Rincon and Amador Gomez. Maria was a great mother, grandmother and friend, she loved everyone; Maria C. Gomez Vargas worked as a mama patrol for Stafford Elementary and in 1977 she went to work for Paul Anderson a supply store on Bandera Rd. in San Antonio, Texas. Maria retired from Paul Anderson and enjoyed a full life of dancing, singing, gardening and keeping up with the latest fashions. She is survived by children Emilia Martinez, Esther Ramos and husband Raul, Ofelia Sandoval, Rosa Middlebrooks and husband Franklin, Armando Vargas and wife Yolanda, Alma Martinez and husband Mike, Tito Vargas III and wife Oralia, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is Preceded in death by husband Tito Vargas Jr, Daughter Olga Vargas, Brother Rafael Gomez, Sister Josephina Hernandez, sister Felipa Luna, Brother Frank (Pancho) Gomez and Grandson Henry Martinez Jr..
