Maria Yolanda Guerra Weaver, 80 years old, passed away on Jan 30, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Arturo Weaver, daughter Denise Weaver-Rodriguez(Martin Rodriguez), and her son Darius Weaver, 6 grandchildren, Alexandra Weaver, Sierra Weaver, Nikolas Rodriguez, Alejandro "Chiquis" Rodriguez, Viviana Rodriguez, and Adriano "Quatro" Rodriguez, older brother Emilio Ruben (Bertha) Guerra, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Yolanda was a beloved kindergarten teacher in Brownsville at Russell Elementary, and later in Harlingen at Travis Elementary. She believed in early childhood education, and supported her students to pursue and maximize their educational opportunities to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her parents Estanislao and Rosa Guerra, her brothers Ricardo Guerra and Hector Guerra, and her nephew, Robert Guerra.
