

Marian Irene Tiffany Daugherty, age 96, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007 in San Antonio, TX. Born in Las Vegas, NM on June 18, 1911, she grew up in El Paso, TX, graduating from El Paso High School and going to work for Western Union.
In 1938, she married Francis Pancho Daugherty, a dashing cavalry lieutenant stationed at Fort Bliss, TX. After he returned from the Pacific Theater in WWII in 1945, she began, with son Bill, the exciting, nomadic wife of a career Army officer. After assignments in six states; Caracas, Venezuela; and two posts in Germany, Marian and Pancho returned to El Paso after his retirement in 1965. There, Marian enjoyed her family and friends and was active with Pancho in the Military Order of World Wars, the Horse Cavalry Association, and the First Presbyterian Church of El Paso.
In 1992, Marian and Pancho moved to San Antonio to join their son and daughter-in-law, Lynn. They found a loving church family at the Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church and remained active as long as health permitted.
She will be interred at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with her cavalryman, COL Pancho Daugherty, buried in 1998.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, COL Ret William F. and Linda Daugherty of San Antonio; brother, James S. Tiffany of Carrollton, TX; sister, Mary Lou Davidson of San Antonio; granddaughters, Kimberly Alexander and Cynthia Evans of Dallas, TX; great-grandsons, Austin, Parker, Nicholas Evans, and Ian Alexander; and numerous, loving nieces and nephews.
