Mariano Perez Arredondo

Heaven at the age of 86 years old. He peacefully passed away at home on November 28, 2024,

Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by his wife and family.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 67 years, Nicolasa Esther Arredondo. Together they

formed a family and had 6 children, Mariano Arredondo Jr, Isidro Arredondo, Gabriel Arredondo,

Manuel Arredondo (Gloria), Estella A. Straquadine (Tony) and Reynaldo Arredondo. He also leaves

18 beloved grandchildren and great -grandchildren.

He worked for many years as a diesel mechanic at Van De Walle Farms on the west-side of San

Antonio where he grew an appreciation for working on engines, a trade he would later share with his

sons and grandsons. One of his greatest things in life was being a father and grandpa, always

offering a welcoming smile, open arms and even tough love when needed. He enjoyed to sit and

talk, joke and always offered to help fix anything his family needed help with. When hard times

came for anyone he loved he offered everything he had to help make things better and he was a

protector, always wanting his family to be safe and together.

Mariano Perez Arredondo is preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Teodora Arredondo, all 8

of his siblings and his beloved grandson, Isidro R. Mata who he loved and missed dearly.

Our beloved, we could not have ever had a better husband, father and grandpa. We will miss you

everyday and you will never be forgotten. We pick up the pieces of our broken hearts and bring you

with us, today and always. Rest in peace until we meet again.

The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m, Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd., followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of The Resurrection at St. John Berchmans' Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd., San Antonio,TX 78226. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio,TX 78237.
