Marie passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 surrounded by family and her beloved dog. Marie was a past Worthy Matron ('74-'75) at Alamo Heights Chapter 734 Order of the Eastern Star, member of Prospect Hill Chapter 817 Order of the Eastern Star, Mighty Chosen One ('93-'94) of Omala Caldron 99 Daughters of Mokanna, and Mrs. Jack E. Burton President ('80) of San Antonio Assembly 159 Social order of the Beauceant.
Marie was born 20 January 1926 in Kansas City MO., The daughter of Bessie Pennington & Jack Murray.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lt Col. Jack E. Burton, whom she married on 1 May 1948 in Puerto Rico, & daughter Ewing M. Burton. She is survived by her son Jack E. Burton Jr., granddaughter Samantha M. Burton, grandson Glenn Bexar Green and wife Katy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, 7 April 2017, with a visiting hour starting at 10:00 A.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough SA, TX 78212.
