

Marie Guadalupe McQueen passed away peacefully in Aurora, Colorado on August 19th, 2015 at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Paula and her beloved brother, Alonzo. She is survived by her loving nieces: Sheryl, Linda and Dotty, great niece Shanan, and great great niece Ana Marie; and her nephews: Ronald and Jay, great nephew Scott, and great great nephew Avery.
During WWII, Marie entertained the troops by performing traditional Spanish dances at San Antonio USOs and was crowned Miss Randolph Field in 1943. She worked for the Department of the Air Force Epidemiological Laboratory at Brooks A.F.B., San Antonio, Texas for thirty years of dedicated federal service. She then worked for the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office for another ten years before finally retiring.
After retiring, Marie traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. She loved to cook, sew, read, play Scrabble, and watch Novellas. Marie moved to Colorado in 2013 to be cared for and be near her family.
She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Our Aunt Marie touched the hearts of many during her lifetime. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
We wish to extend a special thanks to her doctors and nurses, the hospice staff at Heartland, the staff at St. Andrews Village in Aurora CO, and The Madison in San Antonio, TX.
Funeral services will be held Saturday September 5th at 10AM at Porter Loring, 1101 McCullough Ave, followed by a procession to grave side service at San Jose Cemetery.
