Marilyn was a loving companion to her husband Robert and devoted mother to her daughter Terry and son Gary. There were many wonderful memories of the family vacations which included traveling across these United States either camping in their four man tent or staying at the Holiday Inn. Her children were very fortunate to have been exposed to so many wonderful places before going off to college and exploring the country on their own. Marilyn was a mortgage banker and worked only after her children were both attending school full time. Her favorite pass time was sewing, reading a good book, playing cards and going dancing. She made many of her own clothes in her younger years as well as all of her daughter's formals throughout high school.
She was a pioneer in starting the pre-school education program for the children of a brand new suburban community outside of the city of Chicago and was also instrumental in the beginning of the first non-denominational church in that community. Marilyn and Robert were avid bridge players and belonged to a monthly group as well as being members of a dance club. They loved to dance the night away and she is now once again dancing in heaven with Robert. She was a beautiful woman and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Altergott. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Terry B. Peel and husband Terry M. Peel of Spring Branch, Texas and son, Gary Altergott and wife Carol of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Peel, Kassie, Elise and Eric Altergott.
