On March 7, 2018, a light went out in our world when our beloved mother and grandmother "Mooma", Marilyn Susan (Sue) Hill passed away unexpectedly at the age of 88 years young. She was born Dec 8, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to William and Inez (Knotts) Steele. She attended Central Methodist University. Sue was married to Albert Richard (Rick) Hill for 50 years before his passing in 2002. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to her family and faith. She loved her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren in such a special way that each of us thought we were her favorite. She was a strong and faithful servant showing compassion and kindness to everyone, a true role model. Her involvement in different service and social organizations, especially OASIS where she was an original volunteer for over 25 years, exhibits her generous nature. She truly enjoyed planting flowers and taking care of her plants. Sue loved to sing and leaves behind a legacy of old songs that have been passed down to grandchildren and now great grandchildren. She loved to make people laugh, had a wonderful sense of humor and a sharp wit that continued to the end. There are so many hilarious stories to share which have helped to sustain us even though our hearts ache with missing her. We know without a doubt that she abides with our Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rick; sister, Doris De la Roche; and son-in-law, Dr. Michael W McCord. Sue is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Wayne Woodward, Laurie McCord, Karen and Tony Chutek, and Lisa and Frank Giangrosso; grandchildren, Devin Zack Harris, Colin Harris, Rebecca and Barrett Black, Sarah and Clint Bonn, Lauren and Preston Timperlake, Lindsay Giangrosso, Adam, Reece and Kylie Chutek; great-grandchildren, Luke Black and Bryn Bonn; sister, Barbara Bregant and nieces and nephews.
