I met Sweet Marilyn while working at Mission Trail Hospital. She was so welcoming and friendly and excellent at her job. I heard her talk about her wonderful family often. This is such a very sad loss.

You would stop by their house and bring them tacos and sweet bread to make sure they were ok.  They (we) were your Priority and you made sure that they (we) were taken care of the best way possible.  Your hearts are bigger than the world!   

I am soooo sorry for not being there for you both while you were in the hospital.   I wanted so much to be there for you as you have always been there for me.    I know I wasn't there physically but I am happy that I was there in Spirit and in Prayer.

THANK YOU  Lord, I am blessed and grateful to you for bringing me these two beautiful people into my life.  I love you both with all my heart and I am so happy that you are together with your FAMILY up in Heaven with the Lord.

You took your time settling down with that someone special ...and that someone was Marilyn!
 I remember when you would coach boys T-Ball and Little League Baseball and Marilyn would coach girls softball! The whole family would attend games and be so proud of our kids and coaches. 
Both you and Marilyn made time for family and others while still concentrating on your demanding careers. You all gave it your all.
Missing both of you so much. Still can’t get used to you gone. I’ve been tempted to pick up phone to call you and share some of our family news!  I then realize that you are watching from up there and 
enjoying the news already.  You and Marilyn enjoy your new home.

I hold the memory of Uncle Ray and Aunt Marilyn deep in my heart and miss them dearly!  
 I refer to Aunt Marilyn as my Texas Angel! She had a passion and dedication for helping and caring for those in need, which made her the best nurse anyone could ask for!   When I was diagnosed with cancer, Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Ray immediately traveled from San Antonio Tx to Los Angles Ca. to be with my family by my side.  Family to her was everything and her love was unconditional!  
Uncle Ray was a strong sweet man who also loved family and had a  great sense of humour!  He'd relish in making others laugh. I can recall enjoying his funny stories as a young child and throughout my adult life.  He indeed had a skill for storytelling! I treasure all the wonderful memories of Uncle Ray and his love of laughter!

Dear Family:
     It is with great sadness that I learned of Marilyn's death and then her husbands. Marilyn and I attended Poteet High School together and played basketball together.  She was  a very friendly, outgoing girl. Later on  I saw her at St. Leonards Church when my family would attend mass there with my in-laws, Murry and Augusta Ritchey.  May she and her husband rest in peace and may the Good Lord be with you all during this difficult time. 

This truly breaks my heart. Marilyn was such a joyful and caring person. 
I can’t believe this happened to such a wonderful couple.   I console myself knowing they went Home together. Their work here was done and have now become Angels in Heaven. 
May their souls Rest In Peace. 

Our hearts are heavy and sad with  your passing so suddenly. As special as you were to so many, Aubri was gifted personally by your special affection for her. And as your little sister grieves we mended hearts as we got older, and I recall time we had all those years, and how we played. But who knew you had to go.....Time is endless never stopped or started instead memories dwell in each of us forever. We love you and pray for truths and healing. My family has known Ray and Marilyn for 40 years. I'll always cherish the friendship that we had them. From cookouts,  to entering a menudo cook off what fun we had. I will miss not seeing them across the street but I take comfort in knowing that they are together. We love you and will miss you dearly.

Saying goodbye to "Pappo Ray" is not easy to do. We are saddened with his passing. He was the backbone of his & extended family, we were blessed to know him authentically as he entertained us. He was a real hero to many, always ready to toast with a gracious heart. He loved to cook and watch the Cowboys play. He was inspirational, showed tenderness to the young and loved to prank. We are forever changed, yet mourn his majestic life we were privileged. Life is never predictable, yet this is the beginning for Pappo Ray to live in the life beyond with his beloved Mammo May who will poise forward showing us the truths.....as Psalm 107 reminds us that people in many different situations experience anguish and suffering, but God is the great comforter of all who walk in his ways........Marilyn and Ray you both will be with us forever. I worked with Marilyn at SEB as a RN on her 1NW team.   I have had 50 years experience in nursing and have worked under several directors and head nurses.  Marilyn was my favorite.   She always had her staff in  consideration and was so thoughtful of our needs.    I met Ray when Marilyn was hospitalized at SEB several years ago and I could easily see the love and commitment to each other. ( He even brought her Barbacoa because  she wanted it )  I wish to extend my condolences to all her family    My prayers are with you.   Rest In Peace Marilyn and Ray.  ❤️🌺

I was just out of Highschool worked as and Aide and Clerk with this amazing Angel. Strong and compassionate and a great mentor. 3D Oncology was a Team blessed with this amazing leader. Prayers 

Marilyn was the most awesome person ever!  She was the
bests boss I have ever had.  She always went above and beyond
in helping so many people.  I worked with her as part of her staff
at BMC oncology unit.  She was an advocate for the patient, their
family, the staff, and the hospital.   She was always ready to listen
to all of us.  Thank you Marilyn for your help during my difficulties.
I was blessed in my life you're being in my life.  She opened her
heart and her home to us. 

So very sorry for this great loss.  I enjoyed working with Marilyn for over 4 years.  She was a great mentor and friend,  and I was glad to reconnect with her last year when I was back in San Antonio.  She will be greatly missed.

We met Marilyn in our Bunco club years ago and miss her dearly. She was so full of life and she could make you laugh and lift your spirits no matter how tough your day had been. She was always helping others and had so much  compassion for her family, friends and patients and we were blessed to have been her friend.  We treasure our memories and pray for peace for her family.

Marilyn was such a sweet and special spirit.   We first met in the late 90's when I began working at BMC.  Marilyn was the oncology nurse manager.  In those days BMC provided a Christmas "Breakfast with Santa" every year.  Marilyn dressed up as Mrs. Claus and was perfect!  
Through good times and challenging times Marilyn kept such a positive and loving spirit.  She will be missed.

I first met Marilyn in 1982 while attending nursing school. We immediately became the best of friends. She introduced me to her family and friends and was always welcomed into her home. Marilyn and Ray were great people to be with. Fun, caring and always laughing.  Marilyn’s gift from God was being a great nurse and all the people’s lives she has touched. Marilyn and Ray will be missed greatly. I find comfort knowing they are together and will be in God’s heavenly home with other loved ones. 

Marilyn was a strong compassionate person, nurse and born leader. I was very blessed to have worked with her on the Oncology unit at the Baptist Health System. Her mission was to help our patients throughout their hospital stay. We shared laughter and tears with our patients and their family.  I'll never forget her favorite words " Let your conscious be your guide"  She told me that several times. Marilyn was a wonderful mentor and friend.    She gave me a chance and welcomed me with open arms on 3C, Oncology.  We truly were a family on the Oncology unit at Baptist Health System.  I met and worked with some amazing women.  I will always have a special place in my heart for her.  She made you feel welcomed and like family when you were at her home. Marilyn was one of my favorite people and I have many fond memories from when we worked together at the old Southeast Baptist Hospital. For a time, we shared office space and when moved, kept our doors open so we could still talk. Marilyn was loving, kind, compassionate and nursing was her true calling. Her faith was great. My sincerest condolences to her family, whom she loved with her entire being. Rest easy Marilyn, you are home. 

I loved working with one of BMC'sbest nurse manager.  I worked with her on 3D oncology floor for about 20 years the staff there were like one big family for many years.   Marilyn made our job fun every day.  She truly is an angel .   Prayers and blessings to her family and many friends.   I will be praying for her husband Ray. Marilyn was one of the first nursing leaders  I met 20years ago when I started working at BMC.  She was like a mother and a mentor, as well as give an ear when you needed someone to talk to! Such a huge heart for not only BMC but our entire Baptist Health System!.  Love you so much Marilyn, I know you're resting now.  You join so many of our guardian angels who are now watching over the rest of us.



Marilyn was an incredible friend, nurse, mentor, listener, counselor, teacher, etc.  Compassion and empathy surrounded her and she truly treated others with respect, kindness and love.  We shared an office suite and were like a family.  I will cherish memories of the laughs, tears, stories,  and shenanigans - most of which centered around her.  Rest in Peace, my friend.  We may grieve our loss here on earth, but I know that Heaven is rejoicing at your homecoming.

Marilyn will remain in our hearts and thoughts of how she gave tirelessly of herself to her patients, families & friends compassionately, loving everyone she held near, her character is authentic that will always be forefront to aspire like. Her work was completed and called home. Marilyn’s voice the days before her passing was faint but she was strong as was her faith. She remains like that candle in the wind. Marilyn was so much more than a friend to so many people.  Her loss will be felt for a very long time.  My deepest sympathy to all of her family members and friends.  She was so very special.  She was the nurse I looked to for honest advice early in my career and became fast friends with later on.  She was smart, wise beyond her years, and had more compassion than anyone I’ve ever known.  Nursing was her true calling.  She loved her family above all else, and even if you weren’t a blood relative, she still considered you her family.
