Marilyn Gayle Mason

Marilyn Gayle Mason passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the age of 91 in San Antonio, Texas, after a lengthy illness. Marilyn was born on September 12, 1932 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Villa M. Cotton and Ira Z. Mills. She was raised in Corpus Christi and graduated from Incarnate Word Acadeny. Marilyn met and married Kenneth Mason in 1951. Throughout their lives they lived in Corpus Christi, Houston, and San Antonio. They moved to San Antonio in 1979 and became very active in St. Mark’s Catholic Church where Marilyn served on the liturgy committee and was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She also worked many years in the insurance business in all three cities where they lived. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth C. Mason; daughter, Gayle Medina; and sister, Phyllis Cloud. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kathy Aguirre (Michael); son, Robert Mason; three granddaughters, Jordan Kinsler, Krystal Sosa, and Michelle Aguirre; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family is so grateful for the wonderful care she received in the personal care homes of Linda Antu and Elizabeth De La Rosa.
