

Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947 to Philip and Lillian Zishuk. She grew up on Long Island. She moved to Rockford, IL in 1975 with her first husband. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her only sister, Irene, passed away in 2008. Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Merrick Youman; step-daughter, Mara Youman Andreoli from Denver and her husband Dr. Phil Androli along with their daughters, Isla, Lilly and Eva; and two nieces, Kerri Dolena Villoingt of Brussels and Kristin Hoffman of Sierra Madre, CA.
Marilyn married Merrick Youman in December of 1991 and lived in Rockford, IL until moving to San Antonio in 2013. During those years in Rockford, they were members of Ohave Shalom Synagogue and enjoyed the friendship of many wonderful people in the Rockford Jewish community.
Marilyn worked for a time at Anderson consulting in Chicago and the Merrill Lynch office in Rockford. In the early 90s Marilyn took the position of Executive Director of the Jewish Federation in which she served for over 10 years. She also ran the Rockford Jewish Community Center during that time. As a member of Congregation Ohave Sholom Synagogue and Sisterhood, she was looked to as a leader, a creative force, and a well-spoken, organized, hardworking, peacemaker. Lastly, she ran a small massage therapy business out of her home.
Marilyn loved to set-up and decorate her house. She had the pleasure of building two new homes in the 33 years she and Merrick were together. She helped raise Merrick’s daughter, Mara, and put on many wonderful meals for friends and family in her Rockford home.
