Marina Monteleone Perez

Marina M. Perez, born September 8, 1928 in San Antonio, TX peacefully entered into eternal rest with the Lord on August 4, 2016 at the age of 87. Mrs. Perez was loved by many and lived a life of service most notably to the Archdiocese of San Antonio as well as to her parish and to her family and friends, whom she adored. She graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1947 where she received training in bookkeeping and accounting, which she did for a number of years after. As part of her commitment to service, Mrs. Perez mentored young women as a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts of America for several years, served meals to the poor for the St. Vincent de Paul Society on a regular basis, and had a strong spiritual bond with the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel order which was a very important part of her Catholic faith for many years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Jaime C. Perez, and son, Jaime Perez Jr. She is survived by her sister, Carmen Aguilar, her daughter Teresa Perez Garcia and husband Louis, her son Martin Perez and wife Joanna, grandsons Larry Ynman Jr. and wife Bridgedette, Daniel Perez-King and wife Vanessa, granddaughters Vanessa Perez and Jessica Perez, step great grandsons Josiah Almanza and Tristan Almanza, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and additional loving family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 5:00-9:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX, 78238. Mass of the Resurrection will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00am at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower, 1715 N. Zarzamora, San Antonio, TX, 78201 with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2, 746 Castroville Road, San Antonio, TX, 78237.
