On November 26, 2024, 76 year old, Mario V. Donias went to be with Our Lord. He was born on May 14th, 1948, to parents Teresa Villarreal and Jose Maria Donias. Mario left this Earth comforted in the loving arms of his surviving wife, Yolanda Zurita Donias of 33 years of marriage.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Angela, Jose Jr., Rafael and Julian, along with his children Paul, Lydia and Veronica. Knowing that he is once again with them in Heaven is a great comfort.
Mario is survived by his children: Adrian (Ruby), Gabriel (Alma), Yvonne (David), Cynthia (Dan) and Mario, along with several greatly loved grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Mario is also survived by his siblings, Paula, Catarino, Dalia, Pablo, Juan and Rosalinda.
In his younger years, Mario dedicated his life to serving his country and fulfilling his patriotic duties. His military career was marked by distinction, particularly in Vietnam, where he served as a Navy Corpsman with the 1st BN, 9th Marines, and received the Purple Heart for his combat injuries. He served his country once more as an Army nurse during Operation Desert Storm. His military service inspired his children, Adrian, Paul, Cynthia, and grandson Isaiah, to also serve their country.
In his later years, Mario was called to serve yet again—to serve our Lord. He became a Deacon, and his dedication to church and charity brought him great joy.
Although fishing also brought him great joy, spending time with his loving wife, Yolanda, brought him the most joy.
