May he rest in peace. My deepest condolences to you and the whole family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

How do I begin to express the void that we will feel as a family …Your wisdom and your strength were that to be admired. A excellent son , father, husband, brother & nephew , cousin …. We couldn’t be luckier to have you in our lives. My favorite times will always be when you came over and we had long talks about everything under the sun. Thank you for being an exceptional nephew to Mother and my favorite “ big cousin”… You impacted my life in so many ways and also had a great relationship with my husband Adam….. oooh the laughs . ♥️
May God grant you eternal peace and comfort.
We love and forever will miss you primo- hermano.
Love,
Your prima hermana & Primo

This is Gilbert, Sonia’s, brother. Although I did have the pleasure of Meeting Mario, I did not Know Him as well as His co workers and good friends at the station, but one thing I will always remember Mario for, the times that I did have the privilege to speak with Him, He was always, one of the most respectful gentleman, I was privileged, to come to have met and known. This alone gave me a glimpse of the Parents He was blessed to have, and His family as well! In fact with His body of works brought to mind by His coworkers and friends , I once heard this, “ That although, at times not knowing a person as well, one thing is certain, A Man Can Be Described By His body of Works, So In Mario’s case, By The Comments Of His Co Workers, HE MUST HAVE BEEN A FINE FELLOW” May Our God Jehovah continue to Keep Mario and His family in His Memories!

My Fire Academy buddy! We spent the first (rookie) 8 years together at Fire Station 17 A-Shift. Responding to some of SA's major Fire incidents such as the Wetmore Train Derailment and the 5-Alarm fires MacArthur Plaza and Columbia Bowling Manufacturing Plant. Also receving EMS First Responder of the Year Award for "Best Fire Unit."
Mario was integral part of the "3 Musketeers" (w/Louis Jimenez & myself), along with Lieutenant Adam Guerrero and Engineer Jeff Hofbauer, Mario and I couldn't have wished for a better veteran crew as rookies to mentor from. Good times through sad times, Mario made it much easier to pass the time by. A lifelong friend gone to soon. RIP my friend. We'll see you later!...
My sincere condolences to another life long friend in his wife Darlene, children Miranda, Mark, Robert & David.. Mario will be remembered as a great husband, father, friend, colleague, and mentor to all those firefighters who made their way through Fire Station 17!

To the Rodriguez family,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences. We’ve been lifelong family friends, and I’ve been blessed to know Mario for so many years. I have such meaningful memories of coming home on leave, visiting my favorite family, and sitting at the dining room table with him, talking for hours about life. Those conversations meant a lot to me, and I’ll always remember his wisdom, sincerity, and laughter.

He was truly a special friend, and he will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family, and I’ll truly miss him.

The Rodriguez family,
Mario was a great man. He is a great role model to me and among others . He was always smiling and joking
around with family and
friends. It's not bye for now,but see u later.

Our upmost and sincere condolences to the family. Sorry, we couldn’t be there to join you at your time of sorrow but we have you in our thoughts and prayers.

The Rubio Family

With all the love and respect I can offer I’ve kept the family in my prayers everyday he was a great man and a great father the world is short one honorable person who lived and loved endlessly. I know he is proud of the family he has left behind and I’m blessed to have shared but a few minuets basking in warmth and love of the Rodriguez family.

So sorry to hear about Mario, I know how much he meant to you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Victor and Janie Bustamante

I knew Mario well through being good friends with his kids in my youth. Mario was an amazing man and father to not just his kids but to the other kids in our neighborhood. The impact he’s had not just within his service in the Fire Department but also to the youth in our neighborhood is a testament to his loving but firm resolve. I am blessed to have known Mario for the years that I did and the impact he has had throughout the community.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family of Mario Rodríguez. May he Rest in eternal glory✝️

Mario, was a Dear friend to my Family. I grew up knowing Mario thru the SAFD with my Daddy, Jim Hummel, Iam sure my Dad met him at the pearly gates with a feast of a dinner.
They don’t make men like my dad and Mario anymore, they are both sorely missed. Darlene, and Rodriguez Family we are here for you, anytime any place, we are Family

I loved working with him at FS17. They dont make them like him anymore.

Rest in Peace, Brother

Mario was there as I grew up. He was a daily influence in my life. I have so many memories of hanging out with him and Miranda at the fire station and family dinners at the house. He will be missed.

My Most Sincere Condolences to Darlene and the entire Rodriguez family. I fought alot of fire with The 3 Musketeers (Mario, Matt Alanis and Louie Jimenez) from E17 A, early on in our fire careers. It was always great seeing Mario and all of 17's crew. Rest easy my friend. God bless you Mario.
