

Marisela “Marcie” Rangel Flores Williams went on to be with her Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was comforted in His presence on November 11, 2025, at the age of 70. She was a long-time cancer survivor since 2004 and succumbed to her illness after the long courageous battle. She bravely fought hard until the end. She now continues her new life without pain for eternity. Marcie was born to the parents of Jacobo Garza Flores and Rosalva Perales Rangel Flores on May 5, 1955, in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico. Her parents immigrated by visas to San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas followed by their naturalizations as citizens of the United States of America before Marcie was 1 year old.
Marcie was an active member of Eisenhower Road Baptist Church where she met Keith Williams in 1982 who later will become her husband. They were married in the aforementioned church with Dr. Milton Duke officiating the ceremonies on June 30, 1984. Keith moved from North Carolina and together they were active in the bus ministry and soul winning. Marcie had a skip in her footsteps and was full of life. Her love for others inspired her to be a schoolteacher. Marcie graduated from USTA with a bachelor's in arts and completed her student teaching at Gardendale Elementary School with the Edgewood School District between 1984 to 1985. Marcie started her career full time with Abraham Kazen Middle School within the South San Antonio School District between 1985 to 1986. Marcie followed her husband to Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he completed his career with the United States Army in 1990. By 1992, Marcie returned to Kazen for at least a year before she was transferred within the same school district but now a teacher at Alan B. Shepard Middle School by 1993 and continued her long career there until 2012.
Marcie was a member at Town East Baptist Church as well as a teacher of the Gospel in the AWANAS club. She was predeceased by her beloved pastors, Dr. Joe West, and his son, Rev. Larry West. While battling cancer, she worshiped closer to home at Summit Church, where she experienced much joy and relief while singing in the choir. She later worshiped at Mission City Church where she found comfort and peace within the church family. Her faith in God was the focal point of her life. Her contagious smile and love for others will be truly missed by all.
Marcie is predeceased by her aforementioned parents and her beloved father-in-law, Albert T. Williams and his daughter, Jan Williams, and brother-in-law, Charlie Cortinas, Sr. and his son Charlie Cortinas, Jr. She missed them all very much and is with them once again. She is survived by her mother-in-law, Dorothy Deanne Thompson Williams of Statesville, North Carolina, aforementioned husband and their first daughter, Jennifer Michelle Williams Rodriguez and Joey Abad of Yadkinville, North Carolina, second daughter, Stephanie Nicole Williams Pedraza and David Pedraza, four grandchildren, Jeremiah Charles Abad, Jade Lilah Abad, Ellie Mari Pedraza and Sammie Rose Pedraza. She is survived by one sister, Elsa Rosa Flores Cortinas, and two brothers, Gabriel Flores, his wife Irma Hernandez Flores, former wife, Denise Waters Flores of Brownsville, Texas, and Jacob Flores and his wife Rachel Canedo Flores. She is survived by three nephews, Charlie Cortinas III and his wife, Shaina Bradish Cortinas, their children, Gabriel and Sebastian of Carlsbad, California, Jacob “Jake” Cortinas and his wife Nicole Hester Cortinas and their son Kolten, Jonathan Flores and his wife Briana Cuellar Flores of Brownsville, Texas, she is survived by three nieces Ana Alicia Flores Cortez and her husband William Cortez, their children, Rosalie, Valentina, and Jaxon of Brownsville, Texas, Lauren Flores Gonzales and her husband Chris Gonzales of Brownsville, Texas, Mariah Janee Flores Gonzales and her husband Angel Gonzales and their son Ezra Gonzales and former husband Hector Anthony Lopez and their son Jacob Lopez. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law Timothy Dale Williams of Prosper, Texas, Philip Ray Williams of Huntersville, North Carolina and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Williams Lowrance and her husband Chuck Lowrance, and their daughter Grace Aaron Lowrance, of Harmony, North Carolina and his step-daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Williams Balogh and her husband, Nick Balogh, their children, Veda and Lottie of Raleigh, North Carolina. She is survived by her dearest friend Carmen Cabrera and her husband Guillermo Cabrera; she cherished their friendship and loved them as her own family.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 am, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary, with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 am.
Graveside service will be Friday, November 21, 2025, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 9:30 AM and arrive 15 minutes early. Services will be under the 3rd shelter.
