Marissa Elizabeth Pate, age 26, entered her eternal rest on August 5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 13, 1999, in Louisville, Kentucky to her devoted parents Nancy (Melcher) and Marty Pate.
Marissa was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece and friend. With her sweet spirit she brought immeasurable joy into the lives of those who knew her. She especially loved listening to music which brought her pure happiness.
Marissa graduated from the Northside Independent School District’s Nellie M. Reddix Center. Her life was positively impacted by the compassionate care and support of many dedicated teachers and staff from several organizations including Angel Care Center of San Antonio, Behavior Saviors, Advantage Care Services, AACOG of San Antoinio, and Children’s Association of Maximum Potential (CAMP). These communities were very meaningful to Marissa and brought comfort and connection to her and her family.
Marissa is survived by her loving parents; her sister Natalie Pate Pakala (Sunny); her nephew, Bodhi Pakala, and niece, Nina Pakala; her maternal grandmother, Joanne Melcher; and her aunts, Mary Jean Hawkins, Tammi Sheets (Ken), Barbara Gardner, Jodi Bohn (Mark); She is also remembered fondly by many cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norbert Melcher, and Ray and Mae Pate.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 8500 Cross Mountain Trail San Antonio, Texas 78255 followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
A Reception will immediately follow the service.
