

Marjorie Pecola Dailey was born on February 7, 1932, to Lola Lee Bryant Williams in Gonzales, Texas. She moved to San Antonio, Texas at the age of six months.
When Marjorie was six years old, she became a member of the West End Baptist Church and was baptized by the Rev. E.D. Dukes. While she was a member of the West End Baptist Church, she
served faithfully in the church’s youth department. In 1947, she united with the Stranger’s Temple Baptist Church, under the pastorage of the Rev. W.J. Rector.
In 1954, she married Seguin Curtis and to the union, one son was born – Robert Lee Wane Curtis. She married Robert E. Dailey on June 8, 1959, and one son was born to them – Ronald E. Dailey.
Marjorie attended public schools in San Antonio where she graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School, in 1950. During her attendance at Wheatley High School, she was a member of the
Wheatley High School band.
She attended and graduated from St. Phillips College and continued her pursuit in education at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College (University), earning a bachelor’s degree in music education.
With the love and support of her husband, Robert E. Dailey and family, she attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and pursued a master’s degree in the field of education. In 1964, Marjorie successfully completed her graduate program and received a master’s degree of education.
Marjorie began her teaching career in Cuero, Texas. She taught music, English, and directed the high school choirs for two years. She also taught for one year in Floydada, Texas. Marjorie retired from teaching after completing twenty-five years with the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD).
She was a member of Mamie Bryant Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.), Chapter #467 and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
On May 31, 2015, she untied with the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church under the pastorage of the Rev. A.W. Cole and remained faithful and committed there.
Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory – a devoted husband, Robert Dailey; her son – Ronald Dailey (Lorena C. Cruz Dailey); two grandchildren – Isaac Curtis (Fernanda Curtis); Sharika Aguilar (Jimmy Aguilar); her great grandchildren – Keyshawn, Chastyn, Jovaan, Jaylen, Phenix, Bleu, Julian, Sebastian, Lola; and other relatives and friends.
Marjorie was preceded in her death by her devoted aunt, Mattie L. Elgin; her grandmother, Mamie Bryant; her mother, Lola L. Bryant Williams; her sister, Lee Annie Henderson; and her son, Robert Curtis.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, Texas.
A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 am., at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Avenue.
Interment will follow in Meadowlawn Memorial Park, 5611 E. Houston St. San Antonio, Texas.
