My deepest condolences to the Garcia family—especially to my dear friend Melissa, and to Monica and the whole family, whom I love very much.

Let us take a moment to thank the Lord for the blessing of having your mother in your lives for so many wonderful years. That in itself is a gift. May you hold on tightly to the beautiful memories you shared with her—they will live on in your hearts forever.

I’m grateful I had the chance to meet your mother. She was truly a special woman, and I’ll always remember the joy of singing a song for her—it meant a lot to me.

I love you all. Stay strong. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my God I don’t know where to begin, the loss I feel.  I’m her baby girl and I was attached at the hip.  We have had the time of our lives together.  I loved how mom was such a trooper.  Boy she was always ready to go right to the end when I took her to Houston in May.  She just loved hearing her trio music while we drove and saw the sights. We were cruising fanatics from Mexico to Bahamas to Barcelona to Italy.  She was so devout to church I loved taking her to all church activities especially with the Guadalupanos and a few of those casino trips 😊.  We had such a lovely upbringing, she always showed us to be responsible loving Catholic beings.  From growing up in Catholic school walking home to great lunches always homemade.  I don’t know how she did it.  We were all in cheerleading, football, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, sports, camping you name what a beautiful upbringing.  She always showed us to have great faith and we were all so very blessed to call her MOM!

These are my first and second grandchildren.  Ray is actually born on his great grandpas birthday.

My eldest child and so strong and amazing nothing she wouldn’t do for her grandma.

My second child my third grandchild and always a joy.  Grandma loved hanging with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

My third child always so grand and gorgeous.

Rebekah is number 24 grandchild.  Grandma always so proud of all her grandbabies.

Awesome time on an 8 day cruise through Spain, Italy and France.  Mom had always dreamed of going to Spain.  We were on our way to leave off Rebekah in Florence Italy to study abroad.

Mom loved hearing his music especially the song Mentiras.

Had a fabulous time spoiling mom on a birthday cruise.

Momma sure loved cruising.  So happy we spent a lot of time cruising.  Such great memories.

Mom had such a great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and love being a part of the St. Thomas More Guadalupanos.

We where saddened to hear of Martha’s passing our hearts goes out to your family at this time of loss. Martha was such a kind and caring person, and We feel blessed to have known her. Wishing the Garcia Family strength, peace, and comfort in the days ahead.”

Our Mom was a fabulous mother who gave each of her children individualized dedication and devotion.  She enjoyed having fun with her flock.  When we wanted to swim, we would pile into the station wagon for a trip to the beach and as we got older the cold water of Garner State Park became an option.   She loved to see new places and experience the fun those of us who were traveling with here were experiencing.  It gave her great joy that she would later love to share the stories with the rest of us.

 As her flock grew older, she traveled across the US by car and by plane.  She traveled to Europe and cruised the Caribbean.  On her power chair she could shop for ever.  When she was done with one store, the power chair would be loaded on her black chariot for the next adventure.   Whoever was driving would be worn out. 

As devoted as she was to us and Dad, she shared the same devotion with God.   She prayed daily and took comfort in saying the Rosary.  When we needed comfort or someone to lean on, we would call her.  She would pray for us and share her wisdom.  
Her final destination to Heaven was timed perfectly.  Mom will be right on time for her anniversary date with Dad on Aug 27th.  We love you and miss you so much already!  Thanks for the great life we shared and the wonderful memories.    Love Jimmy

My Mom was a girls girl … she loved to get dolled up … I have fond memories of taking her to get her hair and nails done … not to mention … this girl could shop; especially, for purses … she was a grand lady with high morales and I will miss her … love you Mom!

Our beautiful Grandma truly was the best. She had a way of making everyone feel special, loved, and truly heard.

From a young age, I was blessed with extra time with her. Some of my favorite memories are of us taking Grandpa to work and then heading to her favorite—thrift store shopping. When we got home, she’d suggest a little nap, and if I agreed to rest, I’d wake up to candy as a reward. My other favorite memory was waking up on Saturday mornings to the sound of her music playing through the house, the smell of breakfast cooking, and her laughter filling the kitchen with Grandpa by her side.

As the years passed, she never missed an important milestone in my life, always showing up with her steady love and support. As an adult, I was lucky enough to take a couple of trips with her. Let me tell you—Grandma knew how to have fun! We laughed until our sides hurt and cherished simply being together, enjoying whatever the day brought.

I’ll deeply miss her phone calls, just checking in to ask how I was and to remind me that she loved me. She was a constant presence in my life, and I’m beyond grateful for 49 wonderful years with her. The memories, lessons, advice, and love she shared will stay with me and carry me through until I see her again one day. I can only hope to be half the grandmother she was!

Martha was so much more than a mother-in-law; she was a true mother, a cherished friend, and a source of guidance and wisdom. From the very beginning, when I entered the family with my son as a baby, she embraced us with open arms and an open heart. Her love made us feel instantly at home, and I will forever treasure that gift.
Over the years, we created countless memories together—traveling to breathtaking places, enjoying cruises, sharing endless laughter, and living in the warmth of her presence. Even in the simple moments, Martha left her mark. She taught me how to make her famous Mexican rice, and I’ll never forget David joking, “I’ll marry you if you can make it like her.” Well, I did—and nearly 23 years later, I still smile knowing how much of her love lives on in the traditions she shared.
Martha’s grace, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever remain in our hearts. Though we grieve her loss, we carry immense gratitude for the beautiful life we shared with her and the countless ways she touched our lives. We love you, Martha, and we will hold you in our hearts forever.

Our sincere condolences to the Garcia Family.  Such a beautiful lady both inside and out.   May you cherish and be comforted with your living memories with her.  Especially Mari taking her to Europe and many cruises that she enjoyed. I always remember her smiling as I went to give her hugs. Martha was a special lady.  I always admired the strength she had raising 8 children and in the early years did not know how to drive.  She would tell me stories how she would get on the Via bus with all her children and would say she did not know how she managed them.    She shared that she wanted the best for all her children and wanted them to be happy.     We had many long talks and these are some of the pearls of her wisdom that I take with me:  a restored faith in the Virgin Mary,   and  I  often heard her say  " that is called tough love;   "take one day at a time"  and " Life is but a dream".   I was in high school when I met Lonnie thus, Martha was my second mom.  Martha was blessed with many Angels along her side at the time of her calling and through out her life.  She is now with the Angels in Heaven looking down on us.  Martha will always be in my heart.  May she rest in peace in the hands of the  Lord, Virgin Mary  and all of the family members and friends that went before her.   Life is but a dream.......   Love,   Joyce

Since as far back as I can remember Mom was always providing us with wisdom and guidance.  Always encouraged her children to follow the Catholic faith and conduct ourselves with dignity.  She loved my passion for sports; especially, basketball.  She attended all my St. Cecilias and CYO basketball games and she loved the Spurs.  She also loved my passion for classic cars and loved and used the blanket I gave her from the cartoon movie Cars. There are so many wonderful memories, but one food legacy that she taught me and that I loved and have passed on to our children is “cottage cheese enchiladas” (recipe: corn tortillas sautéed in butter then add large curd cottage cheese and roll them); they are fantastic!  I love you Mom, you will always be with me.

Martha like a mom and best friend! We could share many things and boy did we have great laughs. You were so much fun! Our going to figure world to exercise then going to buy groceries at Handy Andy! The time Big Jim came home for lunch and we were drinking wine and laughing so much! Your visits to Sacramento then Dallas were so much fun! I will never forget all the great times we had my beautiful mom in law! May you rest in peace till we see each other again! Loveyou always ❤️ Rosie

I think all of us first-generation grandkids can remember going to Grandma and Grandpa Garcia's house for Christmas—opening presents in the garage, all spread out, each of us with our own pile of gifts in front of us. We all knew to open our presents at the same time, because most of the time, the gifts were the same or very similar for all the boys or all the girls! We loved it—and we caught on pretty quickly that if we wanted to be surprised, we had to open them together! No matter what we always acted surprised and were grateful for whatever we got! 

And- the always delicious Mexican rice, stocked cookie jars and pineapple soda in the kitchen counters!  🙂
