Martha was born in San Antonio on December 11, 1910 to William H. and Martha Warren Grothaus. She graduated from Main Avenue High School, Incarnate Word College and a business school before starting a satisfying career as an administrative assistant.
She enjoyed traveling, and her retirement years were spent visiting place all over the world.
Martha was a member of Chapter Y P.E.O. and also enjoyed friends in her bridge group.
Leaving San Antonio reluctantly, she and her cousin Marion Bitter moved to Southern Hospitality Home in Austin where they have lived for seven years to be near family.
Martha's sharp mind and generous spirit will be missed by Marion as well as the children and grandchildren of Marion and Martha's other cousins: Louise Stromberger, deceased and Carl Muenzenberger, deceased, and his wife Catherine Muenzenberger of Corpus Christi.
