She was born in Cooper, TX, on March 9, 1921, the fourth of seven children born to Charles and Ora Hendrix.
A resident of San Antonio for over 50 years, she was a longtime employee of Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Norton; by her sister, Dorothy Gillean; and by her brothers Buddy, Hal, Jack, and Earl Hendrix.
She is survived by her son, John Norton, daughter-in-law, Karen, and grandchildren Alan and Emily, of Chappaqua, NY; her daughter Barbara Norton and son-in-law, Michael Shumate, of Durham, NC; her daughter Jane Norton and granddaughter Keely Witherow, of San Antonio; her brother Jerry Hendrix and his wife, Kay, of San Antonio; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
