Martha Romero Smith, born January 20, 1949, her survivors include her husband Mike Smith, of San Antonio, and her sister Annie Brown, of Natalia, Texas. Step-daughter Traycee Dewey, her husband Kevin, their children, Ayden & Fletcher, step-daughter Tiffany Coto, her husband Jorge, their children Celese & Christoper Wilborn, Jr., Mother and Father-in-law Jenelle and Gene Smith, sister-in-law Jeannine Bellinghausen, her husband Alan, all of Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Crescensciano and Guadalupe Romero, sisters Helen Balderrama, Romalda Magallanez, brothers Antonio Romero, and Albert Romero.
She met her husband, Mike, on August 8, 1988 (8-8-88); they were married on December 19, 1997. They were both reserved, quiet, “simple folks” that were absolutely perfect for each other. Since the day they met, he held her hand and never let it go. She was extremely close to her sister, Annie and spoke to her each and every day. Martha was known for her extreme generosity and you could always count on her to be there in time of need. Even when she may not have been feeling her best, she always kept her sense of humor and didn’t let anything stop her. She loved Children and showered them with love, hugs, and many gifts. She always lit up when she spoke about all of her “special children”.
She worked and retired from Northeast ISD print services for over 30 years, she was a hard worker and very dedicated to her job. She made some “life friends” there and considered them family.
Her extreme love of “Tweety Bird” was completely unmatched. Her “Tweety” collection in her home alone is un-believable and is just like stepping into a “Tweety” Museum.
She will be missed by so many.
