Martha Jane Townsend Tondre

Martha was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Fred and Johnnie Maly on January 18, 1942. After moving to San Antonio, she attended and graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1960. After graduation, she attended North Texas State University. She worked for Dunn and Bradstreet for several years and as an HR person for a satellite television company.

She married Richard Tondre on July 4, 2005, on their deck in Port Aransas, Texas.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Johnnie Maly.

Martha is survived by her husband, Richard Tondre; sons Brad and Sydney Townsend, Matt Townsend, and fiancée Samantha Bales Stueven; her brother, Kip, and Peggy Maly; and five grandchildren: Faith and Mally Townsend, and Calista, Seth, and Anthony Townsend.

Port Aransas life was always important and dear to her heart. She and her brother practically grew up there. After visiting Port Aransas so many times, Martha and Richard bought a house and lived there off and on for 15 years. We were lucky to have many dear friends in Port Aransas.

There will not be any elaborate service. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 30, from 9-11 in the morning, at Sunset Funeral Home, at 1701 Austin Highway.

Interment will follow at 11.
