

March 4, 1961 – February 1, 2021 - Martin Manuel Garcia, 59, went home to the Lord early morning on February 1, 2021. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Cantu Garcia and his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Martin Garcia and Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy Diane Garcia (Stengel), daughters Chelsea Garcia Nielsen (Devin Nielsen) and Amber Judy Garcia, known as “GG” to his grandson Hunter Lyle Nielsen, mother JoAnn Garcia, siblings Mike Garcia (Velma Garcia), Laura Garcia Lewis (Scott Lewis), Joan Hohman (Paul Hohman), James Garcia; brother-in-law David Stengel (Paige Keyser), nephews, Josh and Ethan Lewis, Chris Hohman, and Nicolas Garcia; nieces Erica and Andreana Garcia, Chloe Hohman, Victoria and Emily Stengel; his special four legged friend, Kuma, and many cousins, family members, and friends.
Martin was born in San Antonio to parents Martin Cantu Garcia and JoAnn Garcia. He was the oldest of five siblings. He served the IT industry for 30 years, starting out in the industry at Computer Craft selling PCs before retiring from HP where he was a network engineer.
In his retirement, Martin kept himself very busy with household projects and his love for cars. He was very outgoing, friendly and active. He enjoyed having any sort of get together to spend time amongst friends and family to create memories. This includes his famous Nascar parties, traveling with friends to La Costa, Amelia Island, and Hawaii, and road trips with his family to the Rocky Mountains. Among all these things, one of his favorite get togethers was his annual fishing trip with life-long friends in Rockport.
A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held on February 6, 2021at the Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. Visitation will begin at 1pm and the service to follow at 2pm. A virtual livestream will be available on the Sunset Funeral Home Facebook page. Following the service, there will be an open house at the home of Judy Garcia.
