

Martin H. Lambrecht of Kirby, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2014 at the age of 87 after a series of illnesses. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 21, 1926. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ophelia (Felix) Lambrecht; his father Martin W. and mother Lydia Lambrecht of Converse. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and upon his discharge went to work for Western Electric, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and A T & T retiring after 40 years. He was active in the V.F.W. where he served as Post Commander for Post 2059 and held various state offices. He was also a member of the Hermann Sons Kirby Lodge #305 for over 50 years where he served as an insurance agent and financial officer. He also had served on the Kirby City Council and was a lifetime member of the Kirby Volunteer Fire Department, assisting with the sausage suppers year after year. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed Judson High School football games where he was recently recognized for being the longest season ticket holder at 50 years. He was also a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kirby.
He is survived by his sons, Martin (Chris) Lambrecht and wife Merrily of Bulverde, Keary W. Lambrecht of Converse and friend Julie Lyssy of Kirby and daughter, Linda K. Lambrecht of Kirby. Grandchildren include Kristin M. Lambrecht of The Woodlands, Jonathan Lambrecht and wife Mandy of Lubbock and Travis W. Lambrecht and wife Jennifer of Universal City; great grandchildren, Shawn, Christopher, Matthew, Nathaniel, Kristen and Travis Jr.; numerous cousins, friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5955 FM 78 with Pastor Michael Lawrence-Weden officiating. The entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
