Born in Brownsville, Texas, Janie lived a life rooted in love, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She made a home in both the United States and the Middle East and embraced many roles throughout her life, including an entrepreneur and real estate professional. Although she found success in many pursuits, nothing brought her greater joy than being a mother and grandmother.
Janie is survived by her son, Husam, and daughter, Nadeen, whose accomplishments brought her immense pride. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Leila and Luka, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Being their grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent teaching, encouraging, and loving them.
Anyone who knew Janie knew that loving others was simply who she was. She opened her heart and her home to those in need, cared deeply for others, and was fiercely protective of the people she loved. She filled birthdays, every Easter, every Christmas, and countless family gatherings with warmth, laughter, and traditions that her family and friends will cherish forever.
Janie was known for her vibrant spirit. She loved to laugh, cook, exercise, and bring people together. She was known for her striking beauty, grace, and unmistakable sense of style, but those who knew her best understood that her greatest beauty came from her generous heart and her extraordinary capacity to love without condition. Her Catholic faith remained a source of strength throughout her illness, and she faced each day with gratitude for the time God gave her with those she loved.
Janie’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her unwavering love, generous spirit, and quiet acts of care. She showed us that a life is measured not by what we accumulate, but by how deeply we love and how faithfully we care for one another.
