With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ann De La Cruz, who entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 68.
Mary Ann was born on March 11, 1958, and throughout her life was known for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating countless memories filled with love, laughter, and togetherness. Her family was the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in simply being surrounded by those she loved.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Eduardo De La Cruz III (Leticia), Christina Rodriguez; and her stepson, Ruben Hernandez Jr. (Susanna), her life partner, Ruben Hernandez Sr., She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Nicholas Rodriguez, Jalen De La Cruz, Gabriel De La Cruz, Aliah Hernandez, Sebastian Hernandez, and Xavier Rodriguez, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Eduardo De La Cruz Jr.; her parents, Julian Casares and Aurora Casares; her son, Gilbert Casares; and her siblings, Jose Casares, Arturo Casares, Oralia Fields, and Olivia Viramontes.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her compassionate nature, her strength, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Although she will be deeply missed, her love and the beautiful memories she created will forever remain with her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on July 27, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 pm.
A Chapel Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on July 28, 2026, at 10:00 am, we will proceed in a processional from the funeral home for a Committal service at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
